Leadership

Staff

Steve Simala-Grant – Director

Steve is passionate about discipleship of the next generation and brings more than 25 years of pastoral, teaching, business and leadership experience to this position.

"Growing young Christian disciples and leaders is where I’ve known both the greatest joy and seen the deepest fruitfulness in my ministry.  Kurios excites me, and I feel a very strong call from the Holy Spirit to commit myself completely to this high call of cultivating leadership among the next generation.  I find myself regularly dreaming about ways to help young people grow their love for Jesus, His Kingdom, and our lost world." - Steve Simala-Grant

Steve’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Religious Education (North American Baptist College), Master of Divinity (Edmonton Baptist Seminary), and Master of Education (University of Alberta).

Steve is husband to Joanne (who would love to go to Disney World with him to see the fireworks) and father to Thomas (whom he believes he can still beat in an arm-wrestling match). Steve loves the outdoors including tent camping in -5oC, as well as snowshoeing 27km in a single day. He is also a collector of tools, both construction and kitchen (a favorite is his smoker in which he makes a mean brisket).

Steve would love to chat with you about Kurios and even buy you a warm beverage when he is in your area. Feel free to reach out to him at [email protected]

Ingrid REINHOLDT - Assistant Director

As her Instagram profile states, Ingrid is a mom of 3, a work in progress, a landlocked Albertan whose heart sleeps by the sea. She’s married to Niels, a musician with a history in youth ministry but now in IT. Ingrid had the blessing and privilege of being a stay at home mom with the adventure of homeschooling each of their young adult girls (Michal, Eva, and Iris) from gr. 1 through to gr. 9. After completing her BA in Business Admin from Trinity Western University and prior to starting a family, Ingrid pursued a career within the business/customer service industry.

Over the years Ingrid discovered a great joy in relating to youth and young adults through school events, church activities and family group gatherings. Although she has never described her actions as a ministry, her life experience has prepared her well for this season of leadership with KURIOS.

"It feels like an extension of the love and care I give to my own children and their friends, to encourage them to become who they are in Christ." - Ingrid Reinholdt

Thanks to her upbringing in Calgary and her annual trips to the coast, Ingrid loves to camp and adventure in the mountains and on the west coast.  She has rediscovered a love for the outdoors through snowshoeing, mountain biking, hiking, and amateur photography, taking time to marvel in God’s handiwork. Feel free to contact her at [email protected] for more info about Kurios.
